Free 53" TV
(what's the catch?) The good news

• The TV is available free to the first educational or spiritual organization that schedules pick-up.
• The requesting organization must be a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit entity. A formal contribution receipt from the organization in the amount of $400 must be provided on pick-up (purchase price of the TV was $1,800).
• The TV is fully operational with good video quality and very good stereo sound.

  • Screen size (diagonal) - 53 inches - as promised
  • Cabinet size - height 56 inches, width 47 inches, depth 22 inches
  • TV cabinet is wood
  • Caster/rollers under the cabinet provide very easy movement on smooth floorings, slightly less smooth depending on rug depth.
  • TV can accept up to six inputs (3 coaxial, two jack, one S-Video) including video camera, DVD, VCR or videogame console
  • TV has two video outputs (1 jack standard - 480i; 1 S-Video - 576i)
  • TV has internal stereo speakers, jacks for output to an amplifier and wire connectors for direct connection to loudspeakers
  • The size of the unit makes it very difficult to steal.
  • The TV has a wide viewing range and is very good for small/medium group use.
  • The original owner's manual is included (see file below).

The maybe-less-good news

• The TV is located within a 5 mile radius of Damascus MD.
• See "Cabinet size" above - at least two people, a strong dolly and a truck will be required for pick up.
• No remote control is included. Many functions of the TV work with inexpensive programmable units; availability of the control specific to the TV is unknown.
• This is not a digital TV and will require an antenna and converter box to receive over-the-air signals. Neither is provided with the TV.
• This is not a high-definition TV. It uses interlaced (i) video, not progressive/non-interlaced (p). It will work with all inputs listed above, but will not accept hi-def input.
